Innovation Awards at Cisco Live 2012: Judges

Chris Lewis, Group Vice President, International Telecoms and Networking, IDC

Chris Lewis' responsibilities in the international organization are to build a world-class telecoms and network practice, leveraging the multiple in-country knowledge bases and skills that exist across IDC. He works across the telecoms services and equipment groups and links in with the adjacent software and IT services groups to help build the most coherent and comprehensive coverage of the emerging telecoms, media, and IT sectors. The resultant research and consulting services help clients from all points of the telecoms and networking industries develop their plans for entering the next generation of services, addressing the increasingly complex needs of consumer and business customers alike.

Lewis brings 25 years of experience to the role. Most recently he was senior vice president at Ovum, where he was responsible for the company's global telecoms practice. Before joining Ovum he served 10 years with the Yankee Group and five years at Logica, and started his career with IDC in the early '80s, where he initiated IDC's first international telecoms and networking research.

Lewis is a regular contributor to the global conference circuit and works closely with telcos, telecoms equipment and software providers, regulators and international organizations, as well as key user groups. He believes that a balanced view of the future of the telecoms and IT industries only comes with a broad set of inputs. He is regularly quoted in industry and major business press regarding the future of the telecoms industry, its participants, and its role in the broader telecoms media and technology sector.
