Eric Wenig, Director, Strategic Alliances Europe, Cisco

Eric Wenig is Director, Strategic Alliances Europe at Cisco. In this role Eric will be responsible for managing the existing European-based alliances and for developing new strategic relationships in Europe. While his primary focus will be on Europe, his role will be a global one. He will work closely with the channels organization on the go-to-market plans for non-European alliances such as HP, IBM, Fujitsu, Accenture, EDS and Microsoft. As well as overseeing global leadership for our Alliance relationships with Nokia, NSN and Italtel.

Mr. Wenig joined Cisco 6 years ago, initially leading the German Commercial organization where he has led the change in the go to market model of Cisco in the mid market. Most recently he was the Director of Channels and Alliances for Germany driving growth initiatives with focus partners to stimulate future growth in Germany.

Prior to Cisco Eric Wenig was General Manager for Juniper, Germany/Austria/Switzerland driving Juniper’s market entrance in large IP carrier backbones. Before that he was Vice President of carrier sales in Europe for Newbridge Networks, and has held several roles at Siemens including Director IP product management.

Mr. Wenig has a graduate degree in Electronics from University of Kassel. He has participated in several leadership programs and is an alumnus of the Stanford Executive Program 2007. Mr. Wenig is a Neuro-Linguistic Programming Master and a graduate trainer in sales and marketing.

Eric Wenig lives in Munich, Germany, with his wife and two daughters and is an avid marathon runner.
