Working closely with Cisco's Business Units and clients, Ian and his team are focused on developing solutions leveraging the impact of the network as a platform for business transformation across multiple vertical sectors and building architectural blueprints for the delivery of advanced network-based services into these sectors. Ian also spends time communicating Cisco's vision and the associated business benefits to service providers, business and public sector organisations, as well as industry consultants, analysts and the media. Ian joined Cisco in 1998 as a consulting engineer and became one of Cisco's Distinguished Systems Engineers for his work on global network architectures. His career in the ICT field began in 1976 holding technical consultancy positions, designing and managing the implementation of corporate networks in a wide range of industry sectors, including petro-chemical, retail, financial services and the Public Sector. Ian is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts, a Chartered Engineer and a Chartered IT Practitioner. He is also a Member of the IET, BCS & IEEE. He holds a BSc Honours degree and is a BCS Certified IS Consultant. |
